Booking Horizon
Trenitalia Domestic trains: 180 days prior to the train's departure date
Extended booking horizon: 101 Frecciarossa trains can now be booked up to 12 months in advance.
Current availability: Tickets for these services are currently available for travel up to 15 October 2027.
Rolling booking window: The booking horizon will move forward day by day, eventually reaching 11 December 2027.

Booking on Hold before Issuance :
If cancelled up to 33 days before Train Departure Date => no penalties, bookings can be cancelled for free.
If cancelled or not confirmed in between 33 days and 8 days before Train Departure Date => you’ll be charged 5€ penalty per pax + any partial pax reduction is charged 5€/pax.
If cancelled or not confirmed in less than 8 days before Train Departure Date => you’ll be charged the all amount (=100% penalty)
Please be advised that group booking fees are non-refundable and are not included in ticket refunds

Group Conditions
Passengers information is compulsory for tickets issuance.
For Frecciarossa domestic trains:
- If only adults are traveling, no passenger list is required.
- Groups Team only needs the Tour Leader’s name.
- If your group includes children or youth passengers, then full names and dates of birth are required for those travelers.
For international trains to/from Italy:
A complete passenger list is mandatory for all passengers, including full names and dates of birth.
Please include the following information in an Excel spreadsheet and email it to groups@raileurope.com. Please provide the booking number in the subject line. Column A: Last name.Column B: First name.Column C: Date of Birth (DD/MM/YYYY).
The French Domestic routes operated by Trenitalia are not eligible for free tickets and passengers’ lists either.
A free ticket will be provided for every 12 paying people up to a maximum of 5 free tickets.
After Sales Conditions after issuance
- For International EC/IC Trains:
80% refundable up to 14 days before departure
50% refundable from 8 to 13 days before departure
Non-refundable less than 7 days before departure
For Domestic trains within Italy:
•Refundable at 80% until midnight of the 5th day before train departure date.
Miscellaneous information
Executive Class is not available for groups. Premier Executive Class can be booked on your Rail Portal for individual travelers only as there are only 8, 10 or 12 seats available, depending on the equipment and availability at time of booking.
