Overview

Lumo is a UK open-access, low-cost operator running electric services on the East Coast Main Line between London and Edinburgh.

Pets

Lumo allows dogs and other small pets to travel on its services, subject to its onboard conditions.

  • Small dogs and other small animals can travel in a suitable carrier or container.
  • The carrier should be secure and small enough to be safely accommodated without obstructing aisles or other passengers.
  • Larger dogs may travel subject to Lumo's applicable conditions and may require a ticket.
  • Dogs must be kept under control and must not occupy a passenger seat.
  • Assistance and guide dogs are permitted in accordance with the applicable accessibility rules.
Important:
Pet acceptance can depend on the type and size of the animal. Check the applicable Lumo conditions before travel, particularly when travelling with a larger dog.

Food & Drinks on board

Lumo offers an onboard LumoEats catering trolley service, bringing snacks and refreshments directly to passengers at their seats after the crew has completed the safety and ticket checks.

  • Food: sandwiches, wraps, snack boxes, crisps, chocolate, biscuits, cake, soup, porridge and other light refreshments are available, subject to availability.
  • Meal deals: passengers can choose a sandwich or wrap with crisps or a chocolate bar and a hot or soft drink as part of a meal deal.
  • Hot drinks: tea, flavoured tea, coffee and hot chocolate are available onboard.
  • Cold drinks: soft drinks, juices and water are available.
  • Alcoholic drinks: the onboard selection may include beer, cider, wine, sparkling wine, gin and tonic, and other alcoholic beverages.
  • Dietary preferences: Lumo offers vegetarian and vegan-friendly choices, with a significant proportion of its food and drink menu being plant based.
  • Payment: onboard purchases are made by card or other accepted cashless payment methods. Cash is not accepted onboard.
Good to know:
Lumo also offers a pre-order LumoEats service for selected sandwiches and hot food before travel. Menu items and availability can change, so passengers should check the current LumoEats offering before travelling.

Refund policy

Lumo tickets are subject to the conditions of the fare purchased. Refund eligibility and any applicable charges depend on the ticket type and the conditions attached to the booking.

  • Some Lumo fares are non-refundable after purchase.
  • Where a ticket is refundable, the applicable cancellation conditions and any administration or cancellation charge will depend on the fare.
  • Refund requests must be made in accordance with the ticket's fare conditions and before the applicable travel deadline.
  • If a train is cancelled or significantly disrupted by the operator, passengers may have different refund or alternative-travel rights under the applicable passenger rights rules.
Important:
Always check the fare conditions attached to the booking before promising a refund. Do not assume that all Lumo tickets have the same cancellation or refund terms.

Boarding & check-in
