Adding your contact number and its importance

Keeping your contact number up to date helps ensure you receive important travel-related information from the railway operator. It also allows Rail Europe to contact you if needed regarding your booking.

Why is it important to add the correct contact number?

When you book your train journey, your contact number may be shared with the railway operator. This enables them to send you important updates related to your trip, such as:

• Train delays or cancellations
• Platform changes
• Schedule updates
• Service disruptions or other operational notifications

In some cases, Rail Europe may also need to contact you regarding your booking. Having the correct contact number helps us reach you quickly if necessary.

Important: To avoid missing essential travel updates, always provide a valid mobile phone number that you can access during your trip.

How to add your contact number

When entering your contact number during the booking process:

1. Select your country from the Country Code dropdown list. The corresponding country flag and calling code will be displayed automatically.
2. Enter your phone number immediately after the selected country code.

Example

If your phone number is 9876543210 and your country code is +91, enter it as:

+91 9876543210

Important

Do not add "00" or repeat the country code before your phone number.

For example:

• ✅ Correct: +91 9876543210
• ❌ Incorrect: +91 009876543210

Adding extra digits such as "00" or repeating the country code may prevent the railway operator or Rail Europe from contacting you and could result in you missing important travel notifications.
