How to Request a Refund for an SBB Train Cancellation
If your SBB train has been cancelled, you may be eligible for a refund of your unused ticket. Please review the information below and submit the required documentation within the specified timeframe.
Eligibility and Submission Deadline
All refund requests related to SBB train cancellations must be submitted within 60 days from the original travel date.
Important: Claims received after the 60-day deadline cannot be processed by SBB.
Documents Required
To process your refund request, please provide the following documents:
1. Proof of Train Cancellation
One of the following is required:
- Official cancellation notification from the railway operator (email or message), or
- Written confirmation of the cancellation from station staff.
2. Proof of Alternate Journey (If Applicable)
If you completed your journey using an alternative mode of transport, please provide supporting documentation, such as:
- Replacement transport tickets, or
- Other relevant travel receipts.
3. Proof of Non-Travel (If Applicable)
If you decided not to travel after the cancellation, please provide one of the following:
- Accommodation booking or stay confirmation, or
- Written confirmation from station staff verifying that the journey was not undertaken.
How to Submit Your Claim
Once all required documents have been provided, we will submit a refund claim to SBB on your behalf for the unused ticket.
Refund Processing Time
After the claim is submitted:
- SBB typically requires up to 60 days to review and process the request.
- The railway operator will determine the outcome of the claim and confirm the refund accordingly.
