How to book a Swiss pass
Booking a Swiss Travel Pass on Rail Europe is simple and can be done in just a few steps:
Step 1: Visit the Rail Europe website.
Go to the official Rail Europe website: www.raileurope.com.
Step 2: Navigate to Rail Passes
On the homepage, click on the "Rail Passes" section. Under the choosing a country to visit tab, you will find the pass.
Step 3: Choose Your Swiss Pass
Select the Switzerland pass that suits your travel needs:
- Continuous Pass: Travel on consecutive days (3, 4, 6, 8, or 15 days).
- Flexi Pass: Travel on selected days within a validity period (3, 4, 6, 8, or 15 days).
- Regional Pass Berner Oberland: Travel continuously for either 3 days, 4 days, 6 days, 8 days, or 10 days
- Swiss Half Fare Card: 1-month validity period from the first day of travel.
- Swiss Mountain Excursion – Gornergrat: (The Gornergrat Railway takes you to 3,089 meters above sea level in just 33 minutes with a non-stop view of the Matterhorn)
Step 4: Customize Your Pass
Once you select your pass, customize it based on your needs:
- Number of travel days
- Class (1st or 2nd class)
- Validity period (e.g., 5 days, 7 days, 15 days, 1 month, 2 months)
- Number of travelers and passenger details
Step 5: Add to Cart
After selecting your preferences, click on "Add to basket."
Step 6: Review Your Selection
Review your selected pass details carefully, including travel dates, passenger information, and pricing.
Step 7: Proceed to Checkout
Click on "Checkout" and enter your personal details, including name, email address, and contact information.
Step 8: Make Payment
Choose your preferred payment method and complete the payment securely.
Step 9: Receive Your Pass
The Swiss Pass is issued as a mobile pass. You will receive it via email and can show it on your phone during travel.
Important Notes
- The pass must be activated before travel (if applicable).
- Carry a valid ID or passport when using the pass.
- Swiss Family Card must be added at the time of booking and cannot be added later.
