Trenitalia - CartaFRECCIA

CartaFRECCIA is the free loyalty program dedicated to Trenitalia customers, which allows clients to accumulate points by traveling in trains.

It is available for Youth passengers under 30 years old and Senior passengers from 60 years old.

The card is free and offers up to 50% discount on Youth and Senior fares (subject to availability).

They win points by providing their personal code before purchase:

• First click on "Add railcard".
• Then they select the CartaFRECCIA card in the dropdown list.

• They must enter their personal code.

Important note: It is mandatory to enter the code at this step because it won't be possible after. Moreover the passenger name must match the card owner.

• They will be able to see that they booked a CartaFreccia fare during all the booking flow. Indeed it appears in the basket on the right of the page in the next steps until the "Checkout":

KEY POINTS: 

• It is a digital card it is totally demateralized. 
• The passenger name must match the card owner.
• If they select the wrong passenger type, an error message appears and the system won't continue the booking process. 
• A valid identity documentation can be asked in the train.
• The number of seats is limited. Hence it would be subject to availabilities.
• The offer is non-refundable. 
• Exchangeable once up to the departure time of the train (process described below in the troubleshooting and workarounds).

TROUBLESHOOTING AND WORKAROUNDS:

• They may change the date or time of departure only once, up to the departure time of the train, by selecting a journey on the same category of train or service and then paying any price difference. 
• Customers who want to exchange tickets will have to upgrade to a “Base” fare and will lose the CartaFRECCIA discount.
