Strike on Wednesday 18 December 2024 (Updated on 18th December)

On Wednesday 18 December, a strike by SNCF staff is underway.

Trains to and from France may be subject to delays, cancellations, changes or route restrictions.
On the Ventimiglia - Breil - Limone line, train circulation is suspended on Wednesday 18 December until 13:19.

Fiumicino Airport - Orte Line : Scheduled maintenance works from Thursday 28 November to Sunday 1 December: (Updated on 29th Nov)

TI  inform you that, due to some maintenance works, as from today some routes around Rome will experience some disruptions.

In particular, all trains on the Leonardo Express will be cancelled until December 1 st 2024 and the entire service will be rescheduled with direct buses.

Please find here below some more details:

  • As from today, November 28th, to December 1st 2024 all Leonardo Express trains will be cancelled and the entire service will be rescheduled with direct buses between Roma Termini and Fiumicino and vice versa, as follows:

-  3 buses every 30 minutes departing from Rome Termini and Fiumicino Airport and vice versa as from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. and as from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.,

- 2 buses every 15 minutes departing from Roma Termini and Fiumicino Airport and vice versa as from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm.

The buses will stop for passenger service at the following locations:

- Roma Termini: Via Giolitti, street number 10,

- Fiumicino Airport: Via Generale Felice Santini height car park D in front of the railway station exit.

  • as from November 28th  to December 1st 2024 line interruption between Orte and Fiumicino Airport station:
  • trains on the line FL1 will be stopped at Roma Ostiense and up to Fiumicino service will be replaced with buses.
  • as from November 30th  to December 1st 2024: line interruption between Roma Tiburtina and Roma Ostiense:
  • Line FL1 Orte - Fiumicino Aeroporto: train service will be limited at Roma Tiburtina. The section between Roma Tiburtina and Roma Ostiense will be guaranteed with the service of the Rome underground line B (Tiburtina - Piramide) and from Roma Ostiense the continuation to Fiumicino Aeroporto will be guaranteed by bus,
  • Line FL3 Rome - Cesano/Viterbo: trains will be limited at Roma Ostiense,
  • Line FL5 Rome - Civitavecchia: trains will be limited at Roma Ostiense.

Trenitalia : National Strike of Autoferrotraniveri staff on Friday 29th November : ( Updated 27th Nov)

A 24-hour strike is called for November 29, 2024 by the staff of companies to which the National Collective Labor Agreement for Bus, Train and Tram Workers applies.

Scheduled bus and Freccialink services may be subject to change or cancellation.

The strike may lead to changes to the service even before it begins and after it ends.

Trentino -  Alto Adige Region : National general strike from 0:00 to 23:59 on Friday 29 November : (updated 27th Nov)

A national general strike has been called from 00:00 to 23:59 on Friday 29 November, which will also be joined by the staff of Trentino Trasporti and SAD.

SAD trains on the Bolzano - Trento, Bolzano - Merano, Merano - Malles, Brennero - Bolzano - Merano and Bolzano - Fortezza - San Candido lines may be subject to changes.

Trentino Trasporti trains on the Trento - Bassano del Grappa line may be subject to change.

The strike may lead to changes to the service, even before it begins and after it ends.

Trenitalia - Strike in Italy on 23 & 24 November 2024

From 9:00 p.m. on Saturday 23 November to 8:59 p.m. on Sunday 24 November, a national strike is called for the staff of the FS Group, Trenitalia, Trenitalia Tper and Trenord. Trains may be subject to cancellations or changes.

Labor union action may lead to changes to the service even before the start and after its conclusion.

You can cancel your trip and request a refund starting from the strike declaration:

- up to the departure time of the booked train, for Intercity and Frecce trains;

- up to midnight of the day before the strike itself, for Regional trains;

Alternatively, you may reschedule your trip, under similar transport conditions, as soon as possible, according to seat availability.

Italo - Strike in Italy on 23 & 24 November 2024

We would like to inform you that a 24-hour strike has been announced, starting on November 23rd at 9:00 pm ( UTC) and ending on November at 9:00 pm (UTC).

National Strike of the staff of the FS Group, Trenitalia Tper and Trenord from 9:01 to 16:59 today 5th November (Updated 5th November)

From 9:01 to 16:59 today, November 5, a national strike of the staff of the FS Group, Trenitalia Tper and Trenord is underway, proclaimed by the Trade Unions.

Trains may be subject to changes or cancellations.

Industrial unrest may lead to changes to the service before it begins and after it ends.

Travelers who intend to cancel their trip can request a refund starting from the strike declaration:

    Florence - Rome high-speed line: circulation slowed down from 10:30 due to a fault on a train from another railway company (Update - 1st November)

    Event start - 10:30 am

    Traffic has slowed down in the direction of Rome due to a breakdown of a train operated by a Non-Trenitalia Railway near Arezzo.

    High Speed and Intercity trains can take up to 30 minutes longer to travel.

    Ouigo Spain: (Update- 1st November)

    Due to weather conditions there will be no traffic until the 13/11/2024 on the Madrid-Valencia line

    Affected trains: 6472, 6473, 6503, 6512, 6553, 6532, 6572, 6573, 6603, 6602

    Iryo Spain: (Update- 1st November)

    Due to this unfortunate event, we inform you that the trains between Madrid and Valencia have been cancelled, for the moment, until 10/11/2024. The situation will continue to be constantly monitored so cancellations could be prolonged. Rail traffic on the route is suspended until the serious damage to the infrastructure caused by these floods can be repaired.

    Regarding the management of tickets affected by cancellations:

    RENFE - High-speed services between Valencia and Madrid suspended for two to three weeks (Update- 1st November)

    The damage to railway infrastructure caused by flooding in the Valencian Community caused by the DANA means that the high-speed service between Valencia and Madrid will be suspended for at least two to three weeks, a duration that may vary depending on the progress of the repair work.

    Due to the damage caused by the DANA, trains on lines C1 Valencia-Gandia, C2 Valencia-Moixent, C3 Valencia-Utiel, C5 Valencia-Caudiel and C6 Valencia-Castelló of the Valencia Commuter Railway are also not running.

    The long and medium distance services of the Valencia-Alicante-Murcia connection and the medium distance services of Valencia-Albacete-Alcázar de San Juan and Valencia-Teruel are also suspended.

    Once issued the after-sales conditions for Trenitalia trains: -

    For International EC/IC Trains:
    80% refundable up to 14 days before departure
    50% refundable from 8 to 13 days before departure
    Non-refundable less than 7 days before departure

    For Domestic trains within Italy:
    •Refundable at 80% until midnight of the 5th day before train departure date.

    Venice - Milan line: circulation suspended between Padua and Vicenza from 12:00 due to critical weather conditions

    Traffic is suspended between Padua and Vicenza due to critical weather conditions that are causing the risk of flooding of the Bacchiglione and Retrone rivers. 

    The technicians' intervention is still in progress.

    High-speed trains may be cancelled and rerouted on the alternative route between Padua and Verona via Castel Maggiore, with an expected longer travel time of up to 150 minutes; they do not stop in Vicenza.
    Passengers coming from Venice:
    • departing from Vicenza can use the first available Regional trains, managed by Trenitalia Customer Service staff, to Verona, where they will find further continuation with the first available High-speed trains, managed by Trenitalia Customer Service staff;
    • heading to Vicenza can use the replacement bus service specially arranged from Padua.
    Passengers coming from Milan:
    • heading to Vicenza can use the first available Regional trains, managed by Trenitalia Customer Service staff, to Verona, where they will find further continuation with the first available High-speed trains, managed by Trenitalia Customer Service staff;
    • departing from Vicenza can use the replacement bus service specially arranged to Padua, where they will find continuation with the first available trains, managed by Trenitalia Customer Service staff.

    High Speed Trains routed on the alternative route between Padua and Verona via Castel Maggiore:

  • FR 9729 Udine (11.25) - Milan Central (15.45)
    • FR 9723 Milan Central (11.45) - Venice Santa Lucia (14.12)
    FR 9728 Venice Santa Lucia (11.48) - Milan Central (14.35)FR 9732 Venice Santa Lucia (12.48) - Milan Central (15.15)
  • The train  Frecciarossa 9727 Milano Centrale (12:45) - Venezia Santa Lucia (15:12) is cancelled today.
    Passengers can use the train FR 9731 Milano Centrale (13:45) - Venezia Santa Lucia (16:12) .

    The Frecciarossa  train 9736 Venice Santa Lucia (13:48) - Milan Central (16:15) is cancelled today.
    Passengers can use the train  FR 9740 Venice Santa Lucia (14:48) - Milan Central (17:15) .

    Regional trains heading towards Venice end their journey in Vicenza.

    Regional trains heading towards Milan end their journey in Padua or Grisignano di Zocco.

    Traffic is still slow between Vicenza and Altavilla due to critical weather conditions that are causing the risk of flooding of the Bacchiglione and Retrone rivers.

    The technicians are working on the repairs.

    High-speed and regional trains may take up to 15 minutes longer to travel.

    Event start - 8:50am

    Traffic is slowed between Vicenza and Altavilla due to critical weather conditions that are causing the risk of flooding of the Bacchiglione and Retrone rivers. 

    Train traffic in the direction of Milan is prevented and is regulated by using other tracks.

    The intervention of technicians was requested to allow the regular resumption of rail traffic.

    High-speed and regional trains may take up to 10 minutes longer to travel.

    Traffic is suspended due to critical weather conditions between Cecina and Volterra.

    Traffic is still suspended between Bevera and Tende for technical checks following a landslide. 

    The technicians are working on the repairs.

    Regional trains may be subject to route restrictions and cancellations according to the following schedule.

    Traffic is suspended between Bevera and Tende for technical checks following a landslide.

    Siena - Empoli - Florence, Siena - Grosseto and Siena - Chiusi lines: traffic suspended in Siena from 17 October due to damage caused by bad weather

    Traffic is still suspended between Siena and Badesse, between Siena and Buonconvento and between Siena and Arbia for technical checks following a landslide and damage caused by bad weather.

    The technicians are working on the repairs.

    Regional trains may experience delays, cancellations or route restrictions according to the following schedule.

    Where possible, bus services are scheduled from Siena.

    Ventimiglia Station: traffic suspended from 10:40 am due to an intervention by the Police:(12th to 13th October)

    Traffic is still suspended in Ventimiglia, while the police are intervening.
    Intercity and Regional trains may be subject to route restrictions and delays.
    Intercity trains subject to the measure:
    • IC 633 Milano Centrale (7:10) - Ventimiglia (10:54) : the train today ends its journey in Imperia.
    Passengers can continue with the train R 3364 Genova Brignole (9:35) - Ventimiglia (12:03) .
    • IC 745 Ventimiglia (10:59) - Milano Centrale (14:55) : the train today departs from Imperia (11:32).
    Passengers can use the first available trains provided by Trenitalia Customer Service staff.

    High-speed lines Milan - Bologna and Florence - Rome: from 12 to 25 August, infrastructure maintenance works on the line:

    From Monday 12th to Sunday 18th August, due to infrastructure maintenance work on the Milan - Bologna AV line, circulation is suspended between Castelfranco nell'Emilia and Fidenza.
    Freccia trains on the Milan - Bologna route increase travel times up to 60 minutes.

    From Monday 19th to Friday 25th August, due to slowdowns on the Milan - Bologna high-speed line, Freccia trains will increase travel times by up to 20 minutes.

    From Monday 12 to Friday 23 August, on the Direttissima Florence - Rome line due to waterproofing works on the Paglia viaduct, circulation is suspended between Chiusi and Orvieto.
    Freccia, Intercity and Intercity Notte trains on the Florence - Rome route increase travel times by up to 40 minutes.

    On Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 August, due to slowdowns on the Direttissima Florence - Rome route, the Freccia, Intercity and Intercity Notte trains will increase travel times by up to 10 minutes.

    Milan - Venice line: circulation suspended between Verona Porta Nuova and Vicenza from 31 July to 20 August for infrastructure improvement works

    From Wednesday 31 July to Tuesday 20 August, due to infrastructure improvement works at Vicenza station, circulation is suspended between Verona Porta Nuova and Vicenza.

    Frecce, Eurocity and Euronight trains are diverted between Verona and Padua via Bologna with an increase in travel times of up to 120 minutes.

    From Wednesday 31 July to Tuesday 20 August, due to infrastructure improvement works at Vicenza station, circulation is suspended between Verona Porta Nuova and Vicenza.

    Frecce, Eurocity and Euronight trains are diverted between Verona and Padua via Bologna with an increase in travel times of up to 120 minutes.

    MILANO-VENEZIA LINE: RFI’s works from July 31, 2024 to August 26, 2024

    Due to works on the Milan-Venice line, Railway Infrastructure Manager has established the interruption of railway traffic between Vicenza and Verona from July 31 to August 20, 2024.
    All trains, including Italo trains, will change their route and are subject to time variations of up to 120’.
    Italo train schedules have been planned with changes in departure and/or arrival and the sales systems are updated.

    From August 21 to 26, 2024, the Railway Infrastructure Manager has established the resumption of the railway traffic between Vicenza and Verona at reduced speed along the concerned section.
    All trains, including Italo trains, are subject to time variations of up to 25'.
    Italo train schedules have been planned with changes in departure and/or arrival and the sales systems are updated.

    MILANO-ROMA LINE: RFI’s works from August 12, 2024 to August 25, 2024

    The Railway Infrastructure Manager has established the closure of the Milano-Bologna line and the Firenze-Roma line from 12 August to 18 August, due to infrastructure works.
    From 19 to 23 August, the Milano-Bologna line will be resumed with speed restrictions, while the Florence-Rome line will remain interrupted.
    On 24 and 25 August, the traffic will also resume on the Firenze-Roma line with speed restrictions.

    All trains, including Italo trains, change their route and are subject to time variations.
    Italo train schedules have been planned with changes in departure and/or arrival and the sales systems are updated.

    LINE MILANO-VENEZIA: RFI’s works on August 20 and 21, 2024

    Due to works on the Milano-Venezia line established by the Railway Infrastructure Manager, on August 20 and 21, 2024, some Italo trains have been rescheduled and partially cancelled:
    • Italo 8968, on August 20, 2024, is cancelled from Verona Porta Nuova to Brescia.
    • Italo 8992, on August 20, 2024, is cancelled from Padova to Brescia and arrives in Milano C.le station at 21.35.

  • Italo 8951, on August 21, 2024, is cancelled from Brescia to Verona Porta Nuova.

    Salerno - Paola line: circulation slowed down from 10 July after the derailment of a freight train on 9 July

    This not a strike but ongoing disruption due to derailment of Freight train on 9 th July.

    Some trains are cancelled, some will run with delayed schedule, and since this disruption on the Salerno - Paola line, impacted trains will be both – Italo and Trenitalia.

    SALERNO-REGGIO CALABRIA LINE: : Rail traffic suspension between Agropoli and Sapri from July 22, 2024 to July 26, 2024

    Due to an inconvenience to a freight train on Salerno-Reggio Calabria line, the Railway Infrastructure Manager will suspended the rail traffic between Agropoli and Sapri, from 22.00 on 22 July 2024, to 6.00 on 26 July 2024. Some Italo trains have been rescheduled and partially cancelled.

    LINE SALERNO-REGGIO CALABRIA: RFI’s works, from Monday to Thursday, from April 15, 2024 to July 29, 2024

    Due to works on the Salerno-Reggio Calabria line established by the Railway Infrastructure Manager, from Monday to Thursday, from April 15, 2024 to July 29, 2024, Italo 8143 has been rescheduled.

    LINE VENEZIA-MILANO: RFI’s works from July 20, 2024 to July 30, 2024

    Due to works on the Venezia-Milano line established by the Railway Infrastructure Manager, from July 20, 2024, to July 30, 2024 some trains have been rescheduled.

    Trenitalia - National strike on 11th April 2024

    We inform you that,  due to a national strike scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 pm. of April 11th 2024, disruption and/or cancellations of Trenitalia's trains are expected.

    The effects of disruptions may also affect the services running just after the end of the strike.

    National strike - March 23th-24th 2024

    We inform you that,  due to a National strike scheduled from 9 p.m. of March 23th to 9 p.m. of  March 24th, disruption and/or cancellations of Trenitalia's trains are expected. The effects of disruptions may also affect the services running just after the end of the strike.

    As for Regional trains, essential connections will run during peak hours (06.00 a.m. to 09.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.).

    Strike Notification 23 - 24 March 2024 - Italo Trains

    Please note that a 24-hour strike has been proclaimed from 9.00 pm March 23th to 9.00 pm March 24th.

    The list of guaranteed trains is published on Italo web site List of guaranteed trains

    ONLY GUARANTEED ones are published, trains not on the list that fall into the strike range are considered not guaranteed.

    +39 0689371892 (abroad) or 060708 (from Italy)  will be active from 3.00 pm on Thursday March 21 st until the end of service on Sunday March 24th .

    In the event of a real cancellation, you can choose to move the journey on a train immediately previous or next or a full refund.

    CASERTA-FOGGIA LINE: RAIL TRAFFIC INTERRUPTION FROM BENEVENTO TO ARIANO IRPINO (Italo trains):

    There is disruption due Rail traffic interruption from 15th March - 19th March 2024 and the below Italo trains are cancelled. 

    From the 12th March the rail traffic is interrupted between the station of Ariano Irpino and Benevento as ordered by the Infrastructure Manager for technical inspection along the line.

    For the following trains: 9928, 9952, 9915 and 9939 for days of the 15th, 16th, and 17th March 2024, a shuttle bus service is active between Foggia and Benevento stations and vice versa.

    Italo trains 8140 and 8141 are cancelled on the 15th, 16th, 17th , 18thand 19th  March 2024. 

    Italo trains 9928, 9952, 9915 and 9939 are cancelled on the 18thand 19th  March 2024 between Bari and Benevento. More details on the following Link:

    Passengers with reservations on trains 9928, 9952, 9915 and 9939 who travel on the route where rail circulation is interrupted can contact Pronto Italo on +39 060708 before the scheduled departure time of their train for information, assistance, refunds or to agree on an alternative travel.

    Passengers with reservations on trains 8140, 8141 can contact Pronto Italo on +39 060708 before the scheduled departure time of their train for information, assistance, refunds or to agree on an alternative travel within 11.00 pm on the scheduled departure date.     What to do if you experience a delay

    Please speak to staff on the train or at the station if you are delayed. They will have the most up to date information and can tell you what to do. Also, ask the staff to stamp your ticket with proof of delay. This will make it easier for you to travel on later trains.

    Keep all of your tickets until you return home. They can be used to submit a claim to the rail operator if you incur any unavoidable additional costs (new tickets, taxis).
