Veneto Region: Friday, April 10, from 8:01 PM to 12:00 AM, Autoferrotranvieri staff will strike.

A strike has been called for Friday, April 10, from 8:01 PM to midnight, involving employees of companies covered by the National Collective Bargaining Agreement for Bus, Train, and Tram Workers.

Trenitalia Frecciarossa, Frecciargento, Frecciabianca, Intercity, Intercity Notte, Eurocity, Euronight and Regional trains are running regularly.

The strike may lead to changes to the service even before it starts and after it ends.

A strike by Busitalia Sita Nord Srl staff has been called for Friday, April 10, from 8:01 PM to 12:00 AM.

• Scheduled buses on the Foligno - Terni, Terontola - Perugia, Chiusi - Orvieto - Orte - Terni, Terni - Perugia S. Anna, Sansepolcro - Perugia S. Anna lines.

• Airlink services in Umbria.

Bari-Pescara line: traffic suspended from 12:25 PM on April 7th between Termoli and Montenero di Bisaccia following a landslide.

Train service remains suspended between Termoli and Montenero di Bisaccia following a landslide in Petacciato.
Long-distance trains may be subject to route restrictions or rerouted, resulting in increased travel times.
RFI technicians are on site to begin restoration operations as soon as conditions permit.

Rome–Florence Line: Infrastructure upgrade works from April 11 to April 12, 2026

The infrastructure Manager scheduled infrastructure upgrade works on the Rome-Florence line to enable the implementation of ERTMS (European Rail Traffic Management System), Europe’s most advanced train control and supervision system.

  • From 00:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, to 03:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, service will be suspended on the Rovezzano - Settebagni section (Rome-Florence High-Speed line);
  • From 02:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, to 05:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 12, service will be suspended on the Orte - Roma Tiburtina section (Rome-Florence Conventional line).

During the work, trains will not be able to run on the Rome-Florence high-speed line and on the conventional line.

As a result of these service interruptions, trains will experience schedule changes, route changes, or cancellations.

The "Pronto Italo" line 060708 (from Italy) and +390689371892 (from abroad) will be active from Wednesday February 25 th at 3 PM.

From 21:00 on Friday 27 February to 20:59 on Saturday 28 February 2026, trains may be cancelled or changed, due to a national strike by FS Group staff, Trenitalia, Trenitalia Tper and Trenord.

Passengers who intend to cancel the trip can request reimbursement starting from the declaration of strike:
- up to the departure time of the booked train, for Intercity and Frecce trains;

Alternatively, they can reschedule their journey, under similar transport conditions, as soon as possible, depending on seat availability.

Strike by the staff of SAD and Trentino Trasporti

From 21:00 on Friday 27 February to 20:59 on Saturday 28 February 2026, a strike by SAD staff has been called. The LDS trains of the Bolzano – Trento, Bolzano – Merano, Merano – Malles, Brenner – Bolzano – Merano and Brunico – San Candido lines may be subject to change.

From 00:01 to 23:59 on Saturday 28 February 2026, a strike by Trentino Trasporti staff has been called. Trentino Trasporti trains on the Trento-Bassano del Grappa line may be subject to change.

The strike may result in changes to the service, even before the start and after its conclusion.

For regional transport operated by Trenitalia, Trenitalia Tper, and Trenord, essential services are guaranteed in the event of a strike on weekdays from 6:00 to 9:00 and from 18:00 to 21:00.

The strike may lead to changes to the service even before it starts and after it ends.

Passengers who intend to cancel their trip can request a refund starting from the strike declaration:

- until the departure time of the booked train, for Intercity and Frecce trains;

- until midnight on the day before the strike itself, for regional trains;

Alternatively, they can reschedule their trip, under similar transport conditions, as soon as possible, subject to seat availability.  
 

From 9:00 PM on Friday, February 27th to 8:59 PM on Saturday, February 28th, 2026, trains may be canceled or be subject to changes due to a national strike by the staff of FS Group, Trenitalia, Trenitalia TPER and Trenord.

The trade union action may imply changes to the service before and after its conclusion.

In case of a trip denunciation passengers are entitled to request a ticket refund once the strike has been announced until the scheduled departure time of Frecce and Intercity trains; for Regional trains, until midnight of the previous day of the strike.

Passengers can always reschedule their trip based on the same transport conditions and seat availability.

Guaranteed minimum services in the event of a strike

On strike days, Trenitalia ensures minimum transport services, listed below, deemed suitable by the Guarantee Commission for the implementation of Law 146/1990.

Trains that are on their way after the strike has started will still arrive at their final destination if it can be reached within an hour of the start of the industrial action; After this period, trains can stop at stations prior to their final destination.

Domestic trains

In the event of a strike on weekdays and holidays, Trenitalia guarantees the long-distance trains shown in the table available here.

In the event of a general national strike for the renewal of the collective labour agreement, which falls on a public holiday, lasting no more than 24 hours and starting at 21.00 on the day before a holiday, Trenitalia guarantees the long-distance trains shown in the table available here.

Regional trains

In regional transport, essential services have been established in the busiest time slots (from 06.00 to 09.00 and from 18.00 to 21.00 on weekdays; from 07.00 to 10.00 and from 18.00 to 21.00 on holidays).

Bologna - Florence line: from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm on Sunday 8 February, traffic between Bologna Centrale and Pianoro will be suspended for the removal of war remnants.

From 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 8th, by order of the Bologna Prefecture, train service between Bologna Centrale and Pianoro will be suspended. This suspension is necessary to allow for the removal of unexploded ordnance found in Rastignano near the railway line.

The scheduled end time may be brought forward or postponed, depending on the actual completion of the scheduled operations.

To ensure connection to the airport, in the event of train cancellations, a non-stop bus service will be set up between Milan Cadorna (via Paleocapa, 1) and Malpensa Airport and between Stabio and Malpensa Airport.

Trenitalia: Infrastructure works at the Florence railway hub

Between January 23rd and 26th, 2026, RFI (the Italian Railway Infrastructure Division) has scheduled two major infrastructure interruptions. These works will lead to schedule changes, route limitations, and the cancellation of several services.

To answer your specific questions:

  • No replacement buses: Please note that no replacement bus services are planned for these dates.
  • Alternative Stops: For several trains, the stop at Firenze Santa Maria Novella has been cancelled. Instead, alternative stops have been introduced at Firenze Rifredi or Firenze Campo di Marte.
  • Reaching the Destination: To reach the city center or Santa Maria Novella station, passengers can use the frequent regional train services available at the stations.

Trenitalia advises passengers to check their specific train number before departure to confirm which alternative station (Rifredi or Campo di Marte) will be used.

From 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, by order of the Prefecture of Trento, train services between the stations of Trento and Ala will be suspended. The suspension of rail services is necessary to allow for the removal of unexploded ordnance found in the municipality of Rovereto.

Trenitalia high-speed trains FR 9721, FR 8502, FR 8506, and FR 8525 have been cancelled on the Bolzano-Verona route.

Liguria Region: From 9:01 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, Intercity Operations Management staff will strike.

From 9:01 am to 5:00 pm on Thursday 8 January 2026, a strike is called by Trenitalia SpA staff at the Intercity Operations Department in Genoa Piazza Principe.

Faenza-Florence line via Borgo San Lorenzo: traffic suspended between Marradi and Borgo San Lorenzo from 5:30 PM on December 23 due to critical weather conditions.

An alert from the landslide monitoring system, train traffic between Marradi and Borgo San Lorenzo has been suspended from 5:30 PM on Tuesday, December 23.

Bus services are planned, with possible increased travel times due to road traffic.

Ventimiglia-Fossano line: Friday, December 26th, commercial services will be rescheduled due to weather alerts.

Following the weather warning issued by the Civil Protection Department, commercial services have been rescheduled for Friday, December 26th. Cancellations are expected for some regional trains.

Orte - Fiumicino Airport Line: December 21st, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m, changes due to the removal of an explosive device.

From 8:00 am to 2:30 pm on Sunday 21 December, by order of the Prefecture of Rome, rail traffic between the Rome Tiburtina and Fara Sabina stations will be subject to changes due to the removal of unexploded ordnance near the railway line, according to the following schedule:

- from 8:00 to 9:00, regional trains do not stop for passenger service at the Monterotondo-Mentana station;

- From 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or until further notice, services are suspended between Rome Tiburtina and Fara Sabina-Montelibretti stations.

A bus service has been established between the Fara Sabina-Montelibretti and Rome Tiburtina stations, and Poggio Mirteto and Rome Tiburtina stations. Buses stop in the squares in front of the stations, except in the following locations: ROME NOMENTANA LL: COTRAL stop in Piazza Addis Abeba; FIDENE: ATAC stop near the train station; SETTEBAGNI: ATAC/COTRAL stop on Via Salaria near the train station junction; PIANA BELLA MONTELIBRETTI: SP 35d train station parking lot.

The bus stop for the Monterotondo-Mentana station is located at the COTRAL Capena Traversa del Grillo stop on Via Traversa del Grillo, near Strada Fioretta.

Passengers who intend to cancel their trip can request a refund starting from the strike declaration:

- until the departure time of the booked train, for Intercity and Frecce trains;

- until midnight on the day before the strike itself, for regional trains;

Alternatively, they can reschedule their trip, under similar transport conditions, as soon as possible, subject to seat availability.

    Starting Friday, October 31, service between Santa Maria la Bruna and Torre Annunziata Centrale has been restored following technical checks by the Fire Brigade near the line.

    A 24-hour strike was called for Tuesday, October 7, by the staff of the Busitalia Sita Nord srl company.

    For Trenitalia and Trenitalia Tper regional transport, essential services are guaranteed in the event of a strike on weekdays from 6:00 to 9:00 and from 18:00 to 21:00.

    Passengers who intend to cancel their journey may request a refund starting from the strike declaration: - up to the departure time of the booked train, for Intercity and Frecce trains; - up to midnight on the day before the strike, for Regional trains; alternatively, they may reschedule their journey, under similar travel conditions, as soon as possible, subject to seat availability.

    The trade union action may imply changes to the service before and after its conclusion.

    In case of a trip denunciation, passengers are entitled to request a ticket refund once the strike has been announced until the scheduled departure time of Frecce and Intercity trains; for Regional trains, until midnight of the previous day of the strike.

    Passengers can always reschedule their trip based on the same transport conditions and seat availability.

    Due to flooding in the Maurienne Valley and in Italy, the circulation of certain trains is severely disrupted. As a result, trains 9281, 9287, 9292, and 9296 are cancelled today, Tuesday, July 1st.

    Affected passengers can choose to:

    • Request a full (100%) refund
    • Postpone their trip and change the travel date without fees
    • For passengers traveling on the Paris <> Lyon route, rebooking on another train can be requested

    Train services between France and Italy from Wednesday, July 2nd to Friday, July 4th (inclusive) are heavily disrupted:

    • Trains 9287 and 9281 will only run from Paris to Lyon Part-Dieu.
    • For passengers on trains 9287 and 9281 heading to Turin and Milan, replacement buses will be provided from Lyon.
    • Passengers on trains 9281 and 9287 traveling to Chambéry, Modane, and Oulx are advised to take the TER from Lyon (the fare will be reimbursed).

    Fiumicino Airport - Orte Line : Scheduled maintenance works from Thursday 28 November to Sunday 1 December: (Updated on 29th Nov)

    TI  inform you that, due to some maintenance works, as from today some routes around Rome will experience some disruptions.

    In particular, all trains on the Leonardo Express will be cancelled until December 1 st 2024 and the entire service will be rescheduled with direct buses.

    • As from today, November 28th, to December 1st 2024 all Leonardo Express trains will be cancelled and the entire service will be rescheduled with direct buses between Roma Termini and Fiumicino and vice versa, as follows:

    -  3 buses every 30 minutes departing from Rome Termini and Fiumicino Airport and vice versa as from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. and as from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.,

    - 2 buses every 15 minutes departing from Roma Termini and Fiumicino Airport and vice versa as from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm.

    The buses will stop for passenger service at the following locations:

    - Roma Termini: Via Giolitti, street number 10,

    - Fiumicino Airport: Via Generale Felice Santini height car park D in front of the railway station exit.

    • as from November 28th  to December 1st 2024 line interruption between Orte and Fiumicino Airport station:

    Iryo Spain: (Update- 1st November)

    Due to this unfortunate event, we inform you that the trains between Madrid and Valencia have been cancelled, for the moment, until 10/11/2024.     RENFE - High-speed services between Valencia and Madrid suspended for two to three weeks (Update- 1st November)

    The damage to railway infrastructure caused by flooding in the Valencian Community caused by the DANA means that the high-speed service between Valencia and Madrid will be suspended for at least two to three weeks, a duration that may vary depending on the progress of the repair work.

    Due to the damage caused by the DANA, trains on lines C1 Valencia-Gandia, C2 Valencia-Moixent, C3 Valencia-Utiel, C5 Valencia-Caudiel and C6 Valencia-Castelló of the Valencia Commuter Railway are also not running.

    The long and medium distance services of the Valencia-Alicante-Murcia connection and the medium distance services of Valencia-Albacete-Alcázar de San Juan and Valencia-Teruel are also suspended.

    High-speed lines Milan - Bologna and Florence - Rome: from 12 to 25 August, infrastructure maintenance works on the line:

    From Monday 12th to Sunday 18th August, due to infrastructure maintenance work on the Milan - Bologna AV line, circulation is suspended between Castelfranco nell'Emilia and Fidenza.
    Freccia trains on the Milan - Bologna route increase travel times up to 60 minutes.

    From Monday 19th to Friday 25th August, due to slowdowns on the Milan - Bologna high-speed line, Freccia trains will increase travel times by up to 20 minutes.

    From Monday 12 to Friday 23 August, on the Direttissima Florence - Rome line due to waterproofing works on the Paglia viaduct, circulation is suspended between Chiusi and Orvieto.
    Freccia, Intercity and Intercity Notte trains on the Florence - Rome route increase travel times by up to 40 minutes.

    On Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 August, due to slowdowns on the Direttissima Florence - Rome route, the Freccia, Intercity and Intercity Notte trains will increase travel times by up to 10 minutes.

    From Wednesday 31 July to Tuesday 20 August, due to infrastructure improvement works at Vicenza station, circulation is suspended between Verona Porta Nuova and Vicenza.

    Frecce, Eurocity and Euronight trains are diverted between Verona and Padua via Bologna with an increase in travel times of up to 120 minutes.

    MILANO-VENEZIA LINE: RFI’s works from July 31, 2024 to August 26, 2024

    Due to works on the Milan-Venice line, Railway Infrastructure Manager has established the interruption of railway traffic between Vicenza and Verona from July 31 to August 20, 2024.
    All trains, including Italo trains, will change their route and are subject to time variations of up to 120’.
    Italo train schedules have been planned with changes in departure and/or arrival and the sales systems are updated.

    From August 21 to 26, 2024, the Railway Infrastructure Manager has established the resumption of the railway traffic between Vicenza and Verona at reduced speed along the concerned section.
    All trains, including Italo trains, are subject to time variations of up to 25'.
    Italo train schedules have been planned with changes in departure and/or arrival and the sales systems are updated.

    MILANO-ROMA LINE: RFI’s works from August 12, 2024 to August 25, 2024

    The Railway Infrastructure Manager has established the closure of the Milano-Bologna line and the Firenze-Roma line from 12 August to 18 August, due to infrastructure works.
    From 19 to 23 August, the Milano-Bologna line will be resumed with speed restrictions, while the Florence-Rome line will remain interrupted.
    On 24 and 25 August, the traffic will also resume on the Firenze-Roma line with speed restrictions.

    All trains, including Italo trains, change their route and are subject to time variations.
    Italo train schedules have been planned with changes in departure and/or arrival and the sales systems are updated.

    LINE MILANO-VENEZIA: RFI’s works on August 20 and 21, 2024

    Due to works on the Milano-Venezia line established by the Railway Infrastructure Manager, on August 20 and 21, 2024, some Italo trains have been rescheduled and partially cancelled:
    • Italo 8968, on August 20, 2024, is cancelled from Verona Porta Nuova to Brescia.
    • Italo 8992, on August 20, 2024, is cancelled from Padova to Brescia and arrives in Milano C.le station at 21.35.

  • Italo 8951, on August 21, 2024, is cancelled from Brescia to Verona Porta Nuova.

    Salerno - Paola line: circulation slowed down from 10 July after the derailment of a freight train on 9 July

    This not a strike but ongoing disruption due to derailment of Freight train on 9 th July.

    Some trains are cancelled, some will run with delayed schedule, and since this disruption on the Salerno - Paola line, impacted trains will be both – Italo and Trenitalia.

    SALERNO-REGGIO CALABRIA LINE: : Rail traffic suspension between Agropoli and Sapri from July 22, 2024 to July 26, 2024

    Due to an inconvenience to a freight train on Salerno-Reggio Calabria line, the Railway Infrastructure Manager will suspended the rail traffic between Agropoli and Sapri, from 22.00 on 22 July 2024, to 6.00 on 26 July 2024. Some Italo trains have been rescheduled and partially cancelled.

    Please note that a 24-hour strike has been proclaimed from 9.00 pm March 23th to 9.00 pm March 24th.

    ONLY GUARANTEED ones are published, trains not on the list that fall into the strike range are considered not guaranteed.

    CASERTA-FOGGIA LINE: RAIL TRAFFIC INTERRUPTION FROM BENEVENTO TO ARIANO IRPINO (Italo trains):

    There is disruption due Rail traffic interruption from 15th March - 19th March 2024 and the below Italo trains are cancelled. 

    From the 12th March the rail traffic is interrupted between the station of Ariano Irpino and Benevento as ordered by the Infrastructure Manager for technical inspection along the line.

    For the following trains: 9928, 9952, 9915 and 9939 for days of the 15th, 16th, and 17th March 2024, a shuttle bus service is active between Foggia and Benevento stations and vice versa.

    Italo trains 8140 and 8141 are cancelled on the 15th, 16th, 17th , 18thand 19th  March 2024. 

    Italo trains 9928, 9952, 9915 and 9939 are cancelled on the 18thand 19th  March 2024 between Bari and Benevento. More details on the following Link:

    What to do if you experience a delay

    Please speak to staff on the train or at the station if you are delayed. They will have the most up to date information and can tell you what to do. Also, ask the staff to stamp your ticket with proof of delay. This will make it easier for you to travel on later trains.

    Keep all of your tickets until you return home. They can be used to submit a claim to the rail operator if you incur any unavoidable additional costs (new tickets, taxis).
