Types of railcards available on Rail Europe

Railcards are cards that you can purchase annually to get discounted train fares. Railcards cannot be purchased from Rail Europe, but their discounts can be applied to your search by clicking the "Add railcard" option.

Railcards supported by Rail Europe

  • UK - all National Rail options.
  • Germany - all BahnCard options.
  • Spain - Senior and Youth.
  • Switzerland - Swiss Half Fare Card.
  • Italy - CartaFRECCIA
  • Austria - Vorteilscard options.

How to use your railcard on Rail Europe

From the search page, click "Add railcard" below the search bar.

From the drop-down menu, select your railcard. You can add multiple card types to one search.

When you click "Find times and prices", the tickets will be discounted according to the railcard regulations if it is cheaper to do so. This will be noted on the right next to the price.

Note that when travelling, you must have your railcard with you or you will be liable to pay the full fare for your journey.
